Fixing Seas0nPass Errors: Common DFU Mode and Restore Solutions

Seas0nPass is an open-source jailbreak utility designed exclusively for the Apple TV (2nd generation). Developed by Firecore, the software functions as a user-friendly front-end interface for the command-line jailbreak tool XPwn. Core Functionality

Custom IPSW Creation: Instead of executing unsigned code directly on a live device, Seas0nPass creates a custom, modified IPSW firmware file. Users then perform a restore-based jailbreak through standard restoration methods.

SHSH Blobs: The tool includes a built-in feature to back up and save SHSH blobs, allowing users to downgrade or safely restore older firmware versions.

Jailbreak Types: It primarily provides an untethered jailbreak for most compatible versions, meaning the Apple TV can reboot independently without being connected to a computer. Firmware Compatibility

Apple TV 5.3: Fully supports an untethered jailbreak on this version.

Apple TV 6.2.1: Supports a tethered jailbreak (requires a computer connection to boot). This can be initiated by right-clicking the “Create IPSW” button in the software.

Hardware Limitations: It exclusively works on the 2nd generation Apple TV. It does not support the 3rd generation Apple TV or any later models. Software Status

As of February 13, 2023, Firecore officially considers Seas0nPass a legacy product. It has not received an active software update since 2017. Because of its legacy status, official technical support is no longer offered, and certain remote features within the program may no longer function properly. If you are looking to modify an Apple TV device, tell me: What generation / model of Apple TV do you have? What tvOS / Software version is it currently running? Seas0nPass – Firecore Support
