APFill Ink Coverage Calculator is a specialized tool designed by AVPSOFT to measure ink, toner, and paper space coverage within digital documents prior to printing. Primarily utilized by commercial print shops, prepress specialists, and cost-conscious offices, the software helps optimize production workflows and accurately estimate job pricing by overriding the vague “5% page coverage” standard provided by cartridge manufacturers. Core Measurement Capabilities

The software functions using two main analysis methods, depending on the document format and required accuracy:

Screen Capture Mode (RGB): Users open a document preview using any graphic editor (such as Adobe Photoshop or CorelDRAW) and select a region on their desktop screen. APFill scans the pixels within that highlighted area to provide quick estimates in RGB, HSB, LAB, and Grayscale color spaces.

Direct File Analysis (CMYK & Spot Colors): For highly accurate commercial pricing, users can load PDF, PostScript (PS), EPS, and raster images (TIFF, JPG, BMP) directly into APFill. The software measures exact ink density down to a fraction of a percentage point for Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, and Key/Black (CMYK), alongside support for up to 8 custom pantone or color spots per page.

Note: In order to process and analyze PDF or PostScript vector layers accurately in CMYK mode, users must install the free GPL Ghostscript library alongside the software. APFill – Ink and Toner Coverage Calculator 6.4 – AVPSOFT
