Electrical Designer – Industrial LadderWorks Automation Industrial LadderWorks Automation is expanding its engineering team. We are seeking a skilled Electrical Designer to create robust electrical systems for industrial machinery. This role bridges the gap between conceptual automation design and physical execution. You will work closely with control engineers, project managers, and assembly technicians to deliver high-quality, safe, and efficient automation solutions. Key Responsibilities Control Panel Design

Create detailed electrical schematics using AutoCAD Electrical or SolidWorks Electrical.

Design physical layouts for industrial control panels and motor control centers (MCCs).

Generate comprehensive Bills of Materials (BOM) for procurement.

Select appropriate components including PLCs, VFDs, relays, and circuit breakers. System Integration & Compliance

Design power distribution systems up to 480VAC for automated machinery.

Ensure all designs comply with relevant industry standards (NEC, NFPA 79, UL 508A).

Calculate panel heat loads and specify appropriate cooling or ventilation systems.

Define wire sizing, conduit routing, and terminal block layouts. Collaboration & Support

Collaborate with mechanical designers to ensure seamless physical integration.

Provide technical support to the shop floor during panel fabrication and wiring.

Assist commission engineers with troubleshooting during initial power-up.

Update schematics to “as-built” status based on redlines from the field. Required Qualifications Technical Skills

Proficiency in electrical CAD software (AutoCAD Electrical preferred).

Strong understanding of industrial electrical components and control logic. Familiarity with safety circuit designs and safety relays.

Ability to read, interpret, and create complex electrical wiring diagrams. Experience & Education

Associate degree or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Technology, or a related field.

3+ years of experience designing electrical systems for industrial automation.

Solid knowledge of UL 508A standards and the National Electrical Code (NEC). Soft Skills

Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to structural detail.

Clear communication skills to collaborate across multi-disciplinary teams.

Ability to manage multiple project deadlines simultaneously. What We Offer
